How do you choose just one photo
of the Taj Mahal?!?
We hired a professional
photographer and took a TON of photos, so it is impossible to choose.
I like this one because I was
paying attention to the visitors as much as the building, and the building has
magnificent workmanship. 20,000 craftsmen worked on it for 22 years.
We also visited Fort Agra,
which was also the palace, to see where and how the queen and king lived.
Then Raj took us to a marble
shop. We started with a toilet with toilet
paper and masala chai. Then we learned about the process, about the beautiful marble
inlay with jewels, of the same family and style of the craftsmen who created
and still maintain the Taj Mahal (every Friday when it is closed for religious purposes). Then
we had the opportunity to view all the unique handiwork and purchase works of
art with government subsidized shipping anywhere. Sensing a theme? We actually all wanted and bought something
there though.
And in the blink of an eye, Hyderabad bound again.
