Hi Oddish!

I went into a local florist and explained that I needed a tall plant that looked like Oddish.

She just looked at me and said "you pick the plant, I plant it for you".

Oh, OK, I decided this was the most spiky and easiest to keep alive.

Management always sends a lot of notices when people are going to be hanging off the side of the building.  It always feels like overkill.  Until a body is suddenly right there.

Anastasia: "Why do you have skirts in your planned wardrobe?  You don't wear skirts!"

I do, but I think I won't in the future.  I'd be really happy wearing slacks the rest of my life, I think.  :)

Uh-oh, I’m hooked on a new reality TV show for the new year.
The Circle is a game based around social media, with the concept that "anyone can be anyone in The Circle."
The contestants, or "players", move into the same apartment building. However, the contestants never meet face-to-face during the course of the competition, as they each live in their own individual apartment. They communicate solely using their profiles on a specially-designed social media app that gives them the ability to portray themselves in any way they choose. Players can thus opt to present themselves as a completely different personality to the other players, a tactic known as catfishing.
It’s a really easy show to binge watch.

Guess who got a new mini nativity?!?

It was the cow who captured my heart, he is so stinking cute!

I thought maybe I' only be able to afford the cow piece from the boutique florist in Amazon land, so I about fell over when she said it was $23 for the set, on after-Christmas special.  Score!

Four brothers.  Four cousins.  Three fairly recent deaths.

But today we laughed, reconnected, and enjoyed old photos.

I was not feeling very inspired to choose a focus word for 2020, so SLOTH seems perfect in a lot of ways.  I’m ready to coast for a bit.  I still want to make progress on goals and self improvement, but at a more leisurely pace.

My specific intentions:
  • More work-life balance
  • Less focus on hard work at work, get more comfortable with place and skills
  • Hanging out with relatives and new friends
  • Grateful for financial blessings, continued giving and saving
  • Travel and vacation more
  • Continue to read a lot

11 years of choosing a focus word to guide my goals and intentions.  Some made a bigger impact than others.  I can’t even find any evidence of 2016!

Typically New Years is a day for me to rest and read... a sloth kind of day!
