I liked my old phone case, but ordered a new one with a wallet that holds two cards, so I at least have a few things with me.

A day none of us looked forward to, but it is done at least.  We tackled the garage of Christmas decorations, relived a lot of memories, and decided who would keep what and which boxes the new home owners would graciously clean out for us.  Plenty for everyone!

We did a tour of Pike Place Market today.  It was fun to learn a little more about the history fo the market.  These restroom signs just crack me up every time I see them.  They are so iconic, from years and years ago...

We went on an outing today to explore a new neighborhood, north Beacon Hill.

Bruce wanted to go to the Puyallup Fair this year.

Then he didn't.

Then he won tickets.

So we went.  And had a good time.

Beth and Greg had extra tickets and invited us to the game.  It was fun to catch up with them and to be in the stadium.  I loved being so high up, but the wind was fierce.

On a day like 9/11 it is interesting to contemplate elevators.  On that day all those people who couldn't get out of the skyscrapers.  I don't want to think of what would happen if our elevators were completely out of order.

Bruce got his new business cards for his new job.  His title seems to be different every time he sees it, but it's some variation of an Asset Manager.

Hung out with Mom today.  We took her on a tour of Bruce's new work surroundings, including Magnuson Park and the dog park there.

I’ve been looking for volunteer options since we moved to Seattle.  I thought Samaritan would be a good fit but it didn’t work out.  Bruce had toured and liked the Orion Center, so when I saw a NextDoor plea to help serve brunch monthly there,  in 1984. At the time, it was one of the first programs in the nation to receive a federal grant enabling six agencies working with runaway awe signed up.  It was laid back and fun.

The center is a shelter of sorts for youth up to age 24.  Multiple partners created a constellation of services—thus, the name Orion.

Noticed new artwork in an office building on my walk to work today.  This was a bright yellow French umbrella, now it is a muted paintbrush scene.

Today ended my long stint in the conference room monitoring LIMS batches with Mark.  That means capturing and erasing the wipe board, all those cryptic notes!

Happy labor Day!  It was PAX day for the guys, reading and lounging and walking day for Anastasia and I.
