Free food!  Leftovers from work are a great way to wrap up our low spend month.  I'm not sure an office full of food is a great way to wrap up a week, but thrilled to have made it to Friday!

The freezer is getting pretty sparse on our low spend food month.  Running out of lunch options.  Starting to be able to see what's lurking in the back.

Tonight we went to a pre-grand opening event at Red Kitchen, a new restaurant in town.  Us and about 150 people!  We must all be starved for some new choices...

Normally our pantry is stuffed.  If a recipe calls for one can of beans we buy two.  Not this month.  We're trying to shave significant dollars from our food spending for September.  Which means that not only are we not getting an extra can of beans, but we are using up the beans we already have.  And so shrinks the pantry...

Our evening walks are getting closer and closer to dusk as fall sets in and it gets dark earlier.  I wish we could just freeze summer...

Fall is here in a big way. The air is crisp in the morning.  The rain came this week. Pumpkin flavor is everywhere.  As are fall decorations.  This photo was taken at Zojo's coffee.  I went against the grain and ordered Peppermint flavoring...

Made it to the weekend!  Feeling a little better, went on a short lake walk.

Nope, not a false alarm.  Officially sick.  Came home from work, grabbed a blanket, parked on the couch all evening.

"You say that a lot, I don't believe you." - Bruce
"Yeah, maybe you're right." - Me

Got out in the woods today!  Got to see some roads, some road building, some big arch culverts... only got rained on a little bit.

What a difference a few days makes.  Walking in the rain.  Alone.  Anastasia is back to UW.  Signs of fall.

This is actually a really dark green.  Mother of the Bride dress, arrived and deemed acceptable.  More or less.

To Vancouver today for a Pokemon event.  I got more points than Bruce!  We walked a ton, enjoyed the sunshine, had fun with the Pokemon community.  Here's Winged Woman, artwork I enjoy.

Home again! Enjoying my kindle on the short flight.  I had my own row both directions!

This is the Weyerhaeuser office in Kalispell that we have been working in all week.  Love the trees as the gingerbread cut-outs, and all the backed-in pick-up trucks in the parking lot, one purple jeep, and our rental cars.

Defensive driving tip:
When backing in, drive past the slot, then back in. On my way past it, look in the slot to ensure it is clear. There is situational awareness, so it is pretty safe to back in. When leaving, just drive out and that is safer than backing out. Otherwise drivers are backing out into what is basically unknown traffic.

Drove to Whitefish for dinner this evening.  Mountains and cute little shops as far as the eye can see.  We had rooftop dining in great weather right before it turned cold.  We decided we needed white cowboy hats to really fit in.

This was the photo I took right before I went splat.  It seemed so perfectly Montana.  Enjoying downtown Kalispell.

On the road again.

Flight on 9/11 in a tiny prop plane, reminds me of flights to Texarkana for work twenty years ago.

Arrived in Montana safely, met up with the project team, found a lovely restaurant downtown called Hops with a fun tree out on the sidewalk.

Bruce gets a little mopey when I leave on trips.  Off to Montana tomorrow!  Today, sunshine, fellowship, work from home, and lake walks.

Busy day!

Ended with a trip to the Clark County event center to watch a roller derby.  It was a double header and it only held our attention for the first game, but it was a fun outing.  Basically the ladies need to stay between the red lines and they are trying to prevent each other from getting through.

New window treatments!  I love paisley, and how this complements the green trim in my scrapbook room.

Adventure!

We made a family outing tonight to taste test the BBQ that Anastasia is likely going to cater for the wedding.

Mini cornbread muffins all around!

Wow, it's been hot.  This photo is taken int he morning, when it's still relatively comfortable.  Thankful for so much air conditioning in my life.

Today we attended Kayak the Cowlitz 2017 End of Summer Float.  It was a float rather than a paddle, so it took forever to go from Castle Rock to Gearhart Gardens, but it was a lot of fun!  There were about 40 of us, maybe, perhaps the biggest kayak group to go down the river together.

Food truck alley!  One of my goals for this year was to attend a food event such as Bite of Settle, Taste of Tacoma, or a food truck rodeo.  Bite of Oregon was a bit disappointing, but checked it off my list!  Being 100 degrees in Portland didn't help...

Hurricane Harvey feels a bit surreal, kind of like when Katrina hit.  This morning they were talking about how the adrenaline has worn off and now it's back to reality, like rent due on the first.  Landlords are posting on BiggerPockets forums about what to do with rent due today in Texas.
