These tennis shoes and I have been friends for ages.  The kids hate my mom shoes, but they are the only comfortable ones in my life.  Not always the same pair, I realized this week that my jogging pair is about to fall apart.

We walked on campus this evening. Long day for Bruce, first day of the school year!

Ran in the dark yesterday morning.  Charged my jogger flashlight, it was easier to see the path today.  Fall is coming!

Back to work today!  But not all alone, my new Pikachu decal went along for the ride!

Normally I am jogging the lake at 5:30am.  Today Bruce and I got up and did some early morning Pokemoning instead.  We wanted to see if we could get mons on 20 gyms at the same time, which is the game limit.  We figured early morning would be our best shot, without other trainers quickly tearing them down.  Success!

I got a new mule for my paddleboard!  So I am back to being able to drag it to the lake by myself whenever I want.  And no straps to fuss with!  Lovin' it!

Not exactly staying home on our stay-cation, but having a lot of fun.

Today was to Portland for kayaking and $5 at 5pm at the art museum.  They had improve and music plus the artwork.  It was fun to hear the story behind the pianos that are scattered all over the city in the summertime.  This raccoon piano is named Wendy, named after a composer.

Spent most of the day scrapbooking.  Felt good to have some fun and play with paper again.

Spent the evening talking to Anastasia and Jacob about wedding plans.  Glad they are making the decisions rather than me!

We hiked six miles at Bradley Trail near Cathlamet today, our first outing with the Mt St Helens Hiking Club.  Nice weather, nice scenery, nice people...

So the eclipse wasn't the only thing that happened yesterday!  Jacob proposed to Anastasia!  Here comes another adventure!

08-21-17

The eclipse has been coming for several months, and today it finally came.  We decided to watch it from Pearson Air Field.  Glad we had the glasses, that made it a lot more interesting to be able to look at the sun and see the moon moving across it.  And now life can get back to normal... maybe.

08-20-17

I thought I had taken some photos today, but I guess not.

It was a quiet day at home.  Church in the morning. Dinner with Anastasia and Jacob.  Two Pokemon raids, a legendary bird and a Lapras... because Jacob STILL doesn't have a Lapras...

Moo!  Love cows, loved these farm animals painted in the windows of this gas station in Snohomish.  Enjoying a fun exploring day with Bruce today, seeing where the phone screens take us...

We decided the last time we stayed in a bed & breakfast was on our inn-to-inn rafting trip in Colorado.  B&B's hold a special place in my heart, we stayed in a lot of them on our honeymoon.

This mansion in Lake Stevens was a fun and luxurious place to spend a night as we kick off my stay-cation week.

Pass by this in our neighbors yard several times a day, didn't really notice it until now.  Love the moss roof.

The grass may be browner than brown, but there is still plenty of green to enjoy!

I bought this at Goodwill in hopes that the lid wold fit on my terrarium.

It doesn't.

So do I send it back to Goodwill or find another use for it?

I like it, but it looks a little creepy too...

Friday night, it's just me and Alexa.  And the smoke detector, I guess, which didn't care for my roasted potatoes.  Bruce gets home tomorrow...

08-10-17

Had a meeting in Vancouver today, didn't get a carpool going, decided to meander home.

Tried to get some steps in, but it was blazing hot at Fort Vancouver.  The Pokemon weren't rare.  And some guys took down the gym I hopped on.

Stopped at Goodwill next, on a mission for some glassware.

Is it Friday yet?!?

Retail therapy!

I like shopping at Target, not sure why I don't got here more often!  They even have $1 matchbox cars.  And adorable cuddly stuffed animals.  And clearance items.

And EVERYONE has back to school supplies en mass.

My photo in the red basket didn't take, so here are the spoils in the plastic bags...

Bright sun!

Lovely evening, but walking solo...

Zapdos!

Zapdos is a legendary bird Pokémon that has the ability to control electricity. It usually lives in thunderclouds.

No thunderclouds here, but plenty of Pokémon trainers gathering to take down Zapdos, the last of the legendary birds that have recently been released.

I have never had to read a manual to work an iron.  This one isn't quite plug and play.  No retractable cord, but plenty of steam!  Sunday ritual, iron the clothes for next week...

Monkey puzzle tree!

The national tree of Chile.  A favorite tree of the Fischers.

The origin of the popular English language name "monkey puzzle" derives from its early cultivation in Britain in about 1850, when the species was still very rare in gardens and not widely known. Someone remarked, "It would puzzle a monkey to climb that".  As the species had no existing popular name, first "monkey puzzler", then "monkey puzzle" stuck.

Farewell to the flower basket, it got too dried out with all our hot weather.  Hello to the easy care succulent basket that looks strangely like the one we gave Bruce's mom for mothers day...

Twelfth Night.

The play centers on the twins Viola and Sebastian, who are separated in a shipwreck. Viola (who is disguised as a boy) falls in love with Duke Orsino, who in turn is in love with the Countess Olivia. Upon meeting Viola, Countess Olivia falls in love with her thinking she is a man.

There was more hilarity than seriousness with this cast of college students having a great time.

Happy National Night Out!

How long does it take to create over 250 hot dog boats?  It goes pretty quick when the line is really long.  And running out of salsa to put in dixie cups sped things up too.  I love that even with a low budge the Highlanders works really hard to offer healthier options.

Congratulations on 20 years, Donna!  Seems I forgot to put her name on it.  Pastel frosting, per her request, she doesn't like to eat bright dye.  A walk down memory lane...
