I don't make it to the rooftop deck of my office as often as I should, but this afternoon it was happy hour.  Love the view of Smith Tower.

What a lovely evening to be on the water!  We saw plenty of sunburnt paddleboarders, but we just took a quick spin around the south end of lake union, admiring the yatchts and city skyline.  Crane count: 9

Hi there Hammering Man!

Loving our neighborhood!

We've been making an effort to get to community and social events here in Seattle.

On Facebook I found a public tour and recption for the SODO Track, a three year two mile mural art project along the light rail track.

It was fun to hear more about the art and artists, and get plenty of walking in too!

Lunch out!  Jeff was kind enough to treat Janice and I to lunch out as my going away gift.  Janice chose the venue, outdoor dining, I chose the rockfish tostadas.  TGIF!

Visiting local churches has been quite an adventure.  Feeling a bit like Goldilocks, didn't think it would be this difficult in the city.  Missing Mars Hill.

"Who thought it was a good idea to give kids Sharpies with their school supplies?!?" - adult

Yeah, they were drawing tatoos all over themselves long before they got their Friday T-shirts for autograph signing.

Ins oem ways this week has been so long, and in some it has flown by and it's hard to beleive we are signing shirts and piling on the bus homeward bound.

Mail call!

We have camp mail for the campers and staff.  The staff mailboxes are in the staff lounge, right outside our room.  Since I'm an early riser I delivered the mail to the boxes each morning.  Letters from campers, from loved ones, from prayer partners, from supporters.

We are all loved!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

We celebrated everyones birthday at camp today.  I must have said "Happy Birthday" a gazillion times, to campers and staff.  We had decorations, cupcakes, a carnival, and gift bags.  Bring on the fun!

For the protection of the campers, we are not allowed to use our cell phones or take any photos at camp.  If photos do not reveal the identity of the camper they can be publicly shared, but most moments live in memory only.

So, here's where Bruce and I are sleeping this week... yep, feels like camp!

Tongiht at dinner we had a royal tea party.  With fancy clothes, decorations, crowns and tiara, tea in china cups, and tiny sandwiches.  Amazingly, the boys loved it even more than the girls.

And today the campers arrived!  10 girls and 12 boys, ages 6 to 11.  We gave them a royal welcome and the fun began.

We are off to camp!

Headed to a confidential location, unloaded tons of supplies, got settled in, and spent some time bonding before the campers arrive.

Bruce and Brett were paired up to come up with a dance move.

The primary purpose of Royal Family KIDS camps is to give foster children ages 6-12 a week of positive memories and royal treatment in a Christian camp environment.
