I have been wondering for years what it would be like to train up to Edmonds to visit Grama & Grampa, instead of driving it.
I was finally able to take off a few days to accommodate the cruddy train schedule, and we gave it a go. Glad we did it, but don't think we will be doing it again anytime soon. When a 4 hour ride has two hours of delays, it's pretty frustrating. As is needing to stress over finding 3 seats together. And deal with a boy coughing the whole time and throwing up after deboarding.
Anastasia, however, is in love with the train and wants to use that mode of transport to visit from college. Go for it, kiddo!

There is something about the romance of a train... although my *actual* experiences have been like yours, full of delays and problems. They can be neat, though.
Oh the girls and I have had wonderful trips to Seattle on the train and home...don't give up!
Use the train that has the car that is for viewing. It is a wonderful place to sit and watch the scenery pass by.
We didn't have any delays either so it is possible you just hit a bad trip. Patience oh young ones..
It seems a little slow going for this Type A mama. The kids can have at it though.
