The revamped Seattle Star on the old Macy's building is now more technologically advanced. Folks can use an app to buy 15 seconds (or more) of Stardom, choosing the colors and patterns. We saw this cool Seahawks display on our walk.

Black Friday didn't feel like much this year. The lighting ceremony at Westlake Center was filmed from a helicopter. After seeing it getting set up, was fun to see it lit up.

Happy Thanksgiving! We had two zoom calls, the McNeil one had a lot of faces we haven't seen in ages.

Wasn’t feeling great today, so watched movies all day.
1.
Safe Haven.
A Nicholas Sparks book to movie, where you can always count on a heart
wrenching twist at end.
2. Christmas in Compton.
In my queue as recommended, redeeming qualities were views of CA and conscience
filmmaking.
3. The Vow. True
stories and amnesia, two things I’m drawn to.
4. It’s a Disaster. Could
have been more pandemic and less relationship drama, but love Julia Stiles.

Window washers visted us today. Haven't figured out whehter it is more awkward to wave at them or to ignore them.

Here come the Christmas decorations! Viktoria must be using saved funds by not offering coffee and events for months by adding more decorations. Oversized ornaments may be in style this year.

Yoga night. New instructor for awhile, Frances had her baby. Bruce didn't sign himself out last time he used Zoom, so I did yoga under his profile. Change can be hard but life goes on. :)

It was a dark and stormy night. I have the blahs, so it is a good evening to curl up in my chair. With a book, with the TV, with my laptop...

Bruce showing off his new camera, me showing off my new hair. Hours later we heard Inslee's latest restrictions, ending lazy Sunday mornings on the roof for a month.

Friday the 13th, because this year just keeps on giving.
Longs, the Vietnamese restuarant on our corner, is permanently closed. So closed that they are dismantling the outdoor eating area. Which always made me think of Dad Fischer, since he and Mom ate out there one evening. We were partial to take-out or indoors.

The downtown Charlie Brown tree got a make-over with lights. Photo isn't in focus, but kind of adds to the effect.

Things are bigger in Texas.
We love all things kitchy, so we had to track down these cowboy boots near the airport. I had a better photo, but I feel like it needs the vehicles in the shot to show the scale.
OK, Texas, the three cities I wanted to see are crossed off my bucket list, so who knows if we will meet again. Bruce would like to visit Big Bend National Park, so maybe. Either way, thanks for the memories!

It was hot and peopley outside today.
We took a morning walk from our hotel, saw the memorial statue of Salena, enjoyed the coastal breeze as the sun beat down on us.
BBQ, OSO wetlands, Texas A&M Corpus Christi campus, podcasts on 2+ hour drive back to San Antonio, checked in to La Contera resort to chill for our remaining day in Texas.

Sunset cruise in Corpus Christi.
Seen in the photo: sun sunk into horizon, decommissioned offshore oil rigs, pirate tour boat.
Not in the photo, but seen: a big fiery sun sinking fast, a lot of frolicking dolphins, pelicans, fishermen, the free ferry to mustang island, one of two working lighthouses in Texas.

Missions and murals today, as we wrap up in San Antonio. As the weekend arrives and the election reaction stays calm, the city is noticeably getting more crowded. We could not have had a better vantage point for the light show on the cathedral, in full view from our Airbnb apartment.

We did this boat tour of the Riverwalk today. This is the theater part of the river; seats on one side, stage on the other. Also where part of Miss Congeniality was filmed. We walked 11 miles today exploring the city, on and off the Riverwalk.

Election night. I expected a landslide. We expected Trump to get punished for his poor treatment of the pandemic. Neither happened. And now we wait and wait and wait for results in a close race.

Dinner with Joan tonight. We went to Charlotte, a new restuarant on the 16th floor of the Lotte Hotel in the financial district. Beautifully plated great food. This was dessert, a Snickers Tart.
