Almost a block long of baby shoes and chalk thoughts regarding the immigrant children seperated from their family at the border.  This is not an issue near and dear to my hear, but it is a heartfelt demonstration.

I guess I'll call this year of the book clubs...

I seem to currently be in four groups...

I'm doing the fall book long distance with my ladies group in Longview.  I found a new local ladies group to read with, meeting at the historic Cobb building.  I attended a book discussion at Barnes and Noble not realizing it was a monthly event and liked those ladies too.  And most recently I joined an on-line book club for UW business school alumni.

Read on!

Meet Metro!

We were in a shop at Westlake Center buying some Edison bulbs for our apartment when I felt in love with this little guy.

I knew he would be overpriced, but he was obscenely spendy, just like so many things here downtown.  He is made our of rolled recycled newspaper.

Metro represents the newspaper, the city, our urban adventures.

Free tickets and a night out at the movies, sound slike fun... except I can't get those images back out of my head... bad movie!

It was a muppet movie!

The critics say:  Likewise, with graphic content, this movie doesn't seem to know when to stop... just a bit of restraint would have greatly improved the movie.

I thought Bruce was taking photos at Grama's party.  Nope.  Me neither.

So here is the extreme skateboarding we saw later; it is a ramp built over a van!

Taking in the summer Sunset Supper at Pike place Market this evening.  So much food, so little stomach space... what a lovely evening of food, music, perfect weather, and perfect company.

Seattle goes above and beyond to put out gorgeous flower baskets for summertime.  I've beeneharing that they give them away at the end of the season and people go crazy.  I'm happy to enjoy them without wanting one.  The boquets from the market, however, I covet...

Funny how your don't notice things, but once you do, you can't go back to unnoticing.  This is one of the cool historic hting I walk by every work day.  Happy Monday.

Christina Tosi came to Seattle today.  She brought her Milkbar pop-up.  Hours of lines to brush with greatness - great truffles, great cookies, and the crack pie was even pretty great.  We skipped the cereal milk flavored ice cream...

More chalk art!

A chalk art festival, two blocks long, came to us at Belltown.

Enjoyed checking in on the progress all weekend then voting on our favorites.

Evidnetly, every year at the South Lake Union block party, there is a steamroller smackdown where students from School of Visual Concepts.  They handcarve the designs in linoleum, spray paint them, put the poster paper down, then a steam roller goes over it to transfer the ink.  Fun to watch and really cool posters.  This one is a DB Cooper wanted poster.

Chalk art.

We happened across this one summer in Bellevue, and it is a big deal, with artists travelling far and wide to temporarily decorate the pavement.

This art is in front of my office building.  The artist has been commissioned to draw six Pioneer Square locals.  This is Amy.

Pokemon Go introduced Spinda - the Normal-type Pokemon that comes with a variety of different markings. In the original game, no two Spinda's are said to have the same markings.

The dizzy panda has been added as a reward for completing a specific research task, “Hit 3 Curveballs in a Row” when you spin a PokeStop - completing this will give you the chance to encounter Spinda... probably because all that spinning coaxes the derpy bear out of hiding.

I was able to get the special research on the way to work, and get my 3 curveballs on the way home from work.

Seattle in 1962 was very different.  Tonight we went to a community meeting and heard had it may be different in 2035.

Enjoying these commemorative plates from G&G's collection.
