Things at home seem so green after being in the desert for a week!

Normally we travel to Portland for events with Ingress and Pokemon Go, but today a group came our way to catch some unique Pokemon and to power up gyms quickly.

Our last day in Vegas felt like a day in Europe.

TODAY: Watched the gondola trainee program, cronut for breakfast, explored remaining casinos (including Paris), lunch at Gordon Ramsey Burgers, gambled a little, afternoon coffee at the Venetian (this was our second story view), Lyft to the airport, back home late at night.

Back to Fremont for the third day in a row.

TODAY: Sidewalk cafe coffee breakfast at the Venetian, explore the strip, preview a drama at MGM Grand, lunch, focus group for the drama (earned $70 each + Starbucks!), bus downtown, zip line at the Fremont Experience (superman style!), murder mystery dinner show.

The Venetian is my favorite casino, Encore is the nicest, but Luxor has got to be the most unusual.  We explored the south end of the strip today and took in dinner and a show at Luxor.  People seem to put their nose up at Carrot Top, but he was hilarious.

TODAY: Bus downtown to preview a sitcom, terrible coffee break, back to exploring the strip, noodle dinner, Carrot Top show, then dueling pianos at NY NY.

Neon and Glam, all over Vegas.

We got off the beaten path today and saw historic signs placed along the median of Las Vegas Blvd, along with the neon sign museum, and cowboy Vic and cowgirl Vicky on Fremont.

TODAY: Bought 3 day bus pass for the Deuce, bussed downtown, walked to neon sign museum, lunch downtown, continued exploring the strip, buffet dinner, and Mystere Cirque du Soleil.

Our home away from home for the week.

Treasure Island. Or TI as they re-branded themselves after the family friendly pirate era.  17th floor, view of the strip.

TODAY: left house at 5am, coffee at PDX, first Lyft ride, timeshare presentation for free stuff (show, buffet, $50 dinner credit, $100 gaming credit, trip back to Vegas), walked the strip enjoying the nice weather.

Project at a rental today.  We filled the pick-up with yard clippings, jumped around to push it down, and filled it up some more.  The big plum tree int eh back is now looking more like a tree than a bush.  A 2017 goal item off the list!

Mac & Cheese feed at church today!  There were six varieties to taste and vote on.  Bruce won with his buffalo chicken recipe.  And my taco style vegan mac was better received than I expected.

Our entryway is all torn up.  Started as a big project with a historic home and it got a bit more involved when the contractor fell through the crawlspace trap door.

To work so early today (and tomorrow!) that I had to use my key to get in the building.  I never have to unlock the building!

Working on a project with folks in the eastern time zone means that meetings start really early... 6am.

Our decluttering is impacting the kids.  This weekend the focus is on getting Xander to part with any of his clothes, shoes, or memorabilia. Anything?!?!?

Xander is trying to eat himself through his birthday.  Lunch at Carl's Jr in Portland, big breakfast and free mega cinnamon roll at Stuffy's, serenading at Fiesta Bonita.  Pace yourself!

We had friends over tonight and they were admiring the Willow Trees.  They also collect them, so the conversation ended up at statues missing limbs due to dusting accidents...

Ten new signs up at the lake.  Educating us about the benefits of the trees.  This cedar is my favorite, but it doesn't appear to raise our property values any...

Ugh, for a morning person, sometimes I sure hate mornings!  Like when I don't feel good and I want to stay in bed as long as I can.  Or when I know that a long day of stress awaits me.    Or when I gave up coffee for Lent, what was I thinking?!?

Still sick, but after all the cold wet weather, had to go outside after dinner.  It was so pleasant we just kept walking...

The Station, a coffee shop in Centralia, is becoming a favorite stopping point.  We go so often they think we are locals!

Free bucket of balls at the driving range!  The weather deteriorated after this, We toured the art gallery and a library before freezing through a soccer game.  With lots of Pokemon caught throughout the day!

Free archery lessons!  We get to try out and take in a ton of new things during Parents Weekend at UW.  Including the tiny house we rented!

We walked downtown for dinner tonight.  Lovely evening.

There is a Pokemon gym across the street from the Monticello so we get to watch the construction/restoration progress.

What a perfect weekend to be out around town walking to and fro!  It's always fun to get close to home, especially with the ornamentals in bloom.
