We finished the most recent season of House of Cards tonight.

It's odd to be watching a show about a presidential campaign in the middle of a real presidential campaign.

Good show, but scary conniving.  Life the real thing, I suppose.

Marcia.  Internet friendship on BiggerPockets for years, met in person tonight at a real estate meeting in Vancouver.  We are both compassionately but firmly servicing the low income rental market.  Fun to compare notes a bit.

Hoppy Easter!

I heard on the radio today that Americans are now buying more candy at Easter than at Halloween.

I enjoy showering the kids with candy, but my favorite thing is playing with the wind up and pull back critters.

Don't think she's packed, and the food truck she had her heart set on closed before church got out... spring break is winding down.

As I reflect on my week, think it was a good mix of rest, moving, and getting things off the to do list.  Started the 2016 garden, overhauled the rentals financials, and got a great start on a scrapbook.

And now, Easter.  Just like the man on the moon, it really happened.

Anastasia said her plans were to watch TV and crochet this spring break.  She has kept very true to her word.

When people walk by my scrapbook room, I hear a consistent rustling as they steal my jelly beans.

Somehow I don't appreciate them saving me for myself.

We'll see if they share when they get their baskets of candy.

Family trip to the zoo!

We spent some time with the leopard, Anastasia trying to get a selfie with it.  The giraffe, condors, and hippo feeding were also popular.

This is either Kia or Borris.  Borris turned 13 a few years ago.  They celebrated his becoming a teenager by giving him a cardboard iPod and a three-tiered cake.

The whole family is reunited.

We celebrated family togetherness with an Ingress event in Portland.  To celebrate the birthday of a player, we did a Mission for Good with him caravan style.  We donated cash to the boys and girls club, clothes to Goodwill, cash to the humane society, food to the food bank, and ended at a charity bar for dinner. 

The Humane Society gave us a tour, including the oldest pet cemetery in the city, where there is a hard to reach portal.

What do you do when a storm takes out your power?

The three of us headed to Portland, exploring some new areas and bakeries and stopped at some familiar spots.

This photo doesn't do it justice, but we were at a park with big artistic boulders, a big asian pagoda, and an ornate pink church across the street.

The park hobo thought we were lost.  Decided not to give her an Ingress recruitment card.

It was a dark and stormy day...

... but not for the hour I was on our adopted block.  God is good!

We were distributing smoke detector batteries, since changing them with the time change is a wise move.  A lot of folks were not home or had recently changed them, darn it!

Each morning I peer outside to decide if I'm jogging indoors or outdoors.

This morning it looked foggy but clear, so I put on my outdoors outfit.

I had to stop and photograph the view from the lake path, it was so odd.

My hair ended up wet with no rain, so pretty thick fog!

The kids always loved it when I brought the items that were expiring out of our 72 hour kit.

Taco feed!  Our small group cooks dinner for the youth group every six weeks or so.  Taco's seem to be the most popular, and they are certainly easy!

Bruce and I finished up his Christmas "childhood" album tonight, wrapping up the journaling of his summer working at Grand Tetons National Park.

Funny thing, Anastasia is currently interviewing to work there this summer!

We spent a good chunk of the day in Beaverton, but we stopped off in Ridgefield first, which is where the photo was taken.

The heron caught our attention, but the flowers had human faces on them.
